I first ”met” Kion Wilson three weeks ago, over the phone, when he agreed to be a subject for one of my Keep it Briefs. (Here it is.) He was thoughtful and honest and the little bit he told me about his life was even more astounding than I’d originally read.
Fast forward a few weeks and with my change in jobs, I had the opportunity to get back into something I used to love doing, writing for SI.com. Kion’s story seemed like the ideal one for me to open with and, not disappointing me, Kion agreed to share it with me, from start to finish.
I’m a writer and so of course I want you to read my work. But I’m honestly going to ask you to check out this column for Kion’s story. Because it really, truly is one worth reading.
