What was that about respect?

Half of the Big East’s teams are in the latest BCS standings. Half appear in at least one of two polls and 25 percent are in both polls’ Top 10s. So much for that disrespect thing.

Cincinnati stormed out to a 30-10 lead against UConn, impressed ABC’s watchers and then, when they hopefully tuned in to something else, hung on for the win. That kept the Bearcats at no. 5 in both polls and the BCS Standings.

Pittsburgh’s next at no. 8 in the AP Poll, no. 9 in the Coaches’ Poll and 12th in the BCS Standings. The last time Pitt broke into the Top 10, calendars read 1982 and Dan Marino was under center.

South Florida’s 23rd in the AP and 24th in the Coaches’ Poll and BCS Standings. West Virginia rounds things out at 23rd in the Coaches’ Poll and 25th in the BCS Standings. (And if we need another reason to highlight the absurdity of the coaches’ votes counting in the BCS… South Florida, by the way, beat West Virginia.)
