It might be time for them at Syracuse. The Orange played at Pitt Saturday with 57 scholarship players and now Doug Marrone’s squad has lost another two.
Strong safety Max Ruter suffered a left radius fracture and underwent surgery today. Suter’s a two-year starter, he was averaging 7.9 tackles per game - sixth best in the Big East - and had a sack, an interception, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
Tight end Cody Catalina will also miss the last three games after hurting his right knee at Pitt. His surgery’s not yet scheduled. He ends the season with 13 catches for 104 yards.
